Ella Langley breaks Billboard Hot 100 record with “Choosin’ Texas”

Country singer Ella Langley has set a new Billboard Hot 100 record with her hit single “Choosin’ Texas,” which has spent 20 weeks at number one. This achievement makes it the longest-running non-holiday song in the chart's history, surpassing the 19-week runs previously held by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

The only song with a longer tenure at the top is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has spent 22 weeks at number one, though its reign is bolstered by seasonal returns each year. Langley’s track is also the longest-running number one by a female country artist.

Langley’s success follows the release of her sophomore album, “Dandelion,” and includes multiple award wins at the ACM and American Music Awards. Amidst her chart dominance, rumors of a remix featuring Drake have circulated after the rapper was seen at one of her shows and played a snippet of the song during a DJ set. Langley is currently continuing her “Dandelion” tour.
