Ella Langley makes music history with ‘Choosin’ Texas’

Country music artist Ella Langley has achieved historic success with her single ‘Choosin’ Texas’, which has spent 24 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

Langley, who co-wrote the track with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, is the only female country artist this century to simultaneously hold the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country, and Country Airplay charts. Additionally, following the debut of her sophomore album, ‘Dandelion’, at number one on the Billboard 200, Langley became only the second woman in history to hold the top position for both a song and an album in the U.S. at the same time.

Miranda Lambert, who provided background vocals for the track, expressed her support for Langley, describing the collaboration as ‘passing the torch’ and noting the song’s relatability and vulnerability.
