Ella Langley nears historic Billboard record with 21 weeks at No. 1
Country artist Ella Langley is approaching a historic milestone as her single ‘Choosin’ Texas’ has spent 21 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement places her just one week away from tying Mariah Carey’s all-time record of 22 cumulative weeks at the top with ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.
Langley’s success marks several records, including being the longest-running number one hit by a female country artist on the all-genre chart and the longest-running number one by a female artist this century. Additionally, her sophomore album, Dandelion, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This makes her only the second woman in history to simultaneously hold the number one album and number one song in the U.S. with a country project, following Taylor Swift.
The current Billboard Hot 100 top five also features prominent female artists, including Stella Lefty at number two, Taylor Swift at number three, and Ariana Grande at number four, with Morgan Wallen rounding out the top five.
