Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ breaks historic chart tie

Ella Langley’s single ‘Choosin’ Texas’ has regained the top position on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, marking its 14th week at number one. This achievement breaks a four-way tie with previous hits such as ‘Low’ by Flo Rida and T-Pain, ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, and ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers and Halsey, all of which spent 13 weeks at the peak. Langley’s track now stands as the sixth-longest-running number one in the history of the purchase-only ranking.

The song has also demonstrated significant crossover success, maintaining a 17-week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Its cultural impact was recently highlighted when actor Matthew McConaughey performed a viral bluegrass cover of the song on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’. Langley subsequently incorporated the video of McConaughey’s performance into her live set during her Dandelion Tour at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
