Ella Nordeste hosts debates on women's roles in culture and communication

The cultural centre Ella Nordeste organised two panels that examined women’s participation in Brazil’s cultural sector and the role of feminist media. The "Vozes de Quem Faz Cultura" discussion highlighted the pressures of work, care responsibilities and ancestral ties for women artists and cultural workers. It was opened by Camila Rodrigues, superintendent of the Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura, and featured public‑law professor Zaneir Teixeira, sound‑engineer and musician Naiara Lopes, and Indigenous artist‑educator Jéssika Kariri, who spoke about art, ancestry and femininity.

A second session, "Comunicação Feminista e Ativismo Digital", focused on using communication to defend women's rights and combat misogyny and misinformation online. Journalist Hébely Rebouças described her feminist podcast project, and Isis Maria of Planeta Ella and Mídia NINJA announced a new edition of the Ella Nordeste festival planned for 2027. Researcher Lola Aronovich warned that right‑wing groups exploit misogyny as a political weapon, calling for stronger, qualified information networks.
