Ellen DeGeneres hints at television comeback during UK appearance

Ellen DeGeneres has expressed interest in returning to television during an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’. The 68-year-old comedian admitted she “really misses” being on TV and the experience of working with writers and audiences.

DeGeneres, who currently resides in the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom with her wife, Portia de Rossi, suggested that the British television landscape might offer new opportunities. She jokingly noted the variety of programming available in the UK, referencing formats such as pottery, sewing, and observational shows.

Her professional hiatus follows the 2022 conclusion of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ after 19 seasons. The program's end was marked by allegations of a toxic workplace environment, including claims of racism and intimidation, for which DeGeneres later apologized. During her interview, she also reflected on her 1997 decision to come out publicly, noting that while the reaction in the United States was difficult, the celebration she received in London was an “extraordinary” honor.
