Ellie Carpenter scores twice in Chelsea's 6-2 derby win

Australian international Ellie Carpenter scored twice to lead Chelsea to a 6-2 victory over Tottenham in a Women's Super League derby. The 26-year-old defender demonstrated her evolving attacking capabilities by recording eight touches in the opposition penalty area, more than any Chelsea striker during the match.

After Matilda Vinberg equalized for Tottenham, Carpenter scored in the 58th minute to restore Chelsea's lead. Following goals from Lauren James and Sjoeke Nusken, and a fifth from Maika Hamano, Carpenter secured the sixth goal with a stoppage-time finish. This performance brings her season total to three goals in 10 matches.
