Ellie Goulding sues former managers over Live Nation conflict of interest

British singer Ellie Goulding has filed a lawsuit in the United Kingdom against her former managers, Ben Mawson and Ed Millett, and their firm, TaP Management. The legal action alleges a breach of fiduciary duty stemming from an undisclosed conflict of interest involving Live Nation.

Goulding, who was managed by the pair from 2018 to 2025, claims she was never informed that TaP’s parent company, HNOE, was partially acquired by Live Nation in 2015 and subsequently fully bought out in 2019. The lawsuit alleges that this ownership structure created contractual obligations that prevented the managers from seeking the most advantageous commercial terms for Goulding, as they were effectively restrained from steering her away from Live Nation-affiliated deals.

During her tenure with TaP, Goulding signed several agreements with Live Nation entities for concert tours, merchandise, and a documentary film. The singer is seeking unspecified equitable compensation and damages for the alleged failure to disclose these ties and for prioritizing the interests of Live Nation over her own financial benefits.
