Greek Municipality of Elliniko‑Argyroupoli Sends Waste Truck to Aid Agios Eustratios Island

On the night of 24 July, the Municipality of Elliniko‑Argyroupoli dispatched a waste‑collection truck from the port of Lavrio to the port of Agios Eustratios. The move was made in response to an urgent request from Agios Eustratios Mayor Konstantinos Sinani and island residents who needed additional sanitation services during the summer peak.

The municipal council approved the deployment, and Elliniko‑Argyroupoli Mayor Giannis Konstantatos said the decision was unanimous, noting the solidarity between small Greek municipalities. The operation was coordinated by Councilor George Kalinteris, emphasizing the commitment to support neighboring towns facing heightened waste‑management challenges.
