Elliot Anderson sets Premier League passing record in Manchester City win
Manchester City midfielder Elliot Anderson set a significant Premier League passing milestone during a 1-0 victory over Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium. Anderson completed 143 of his 155 attempted passes, achieving a 92.3% accuracy rate. He is the first midfielder to attempt over 150 passes in a single match while maintaining an accuracy rate above 92% since Rodri accomplished the feat in December 2023.
In addition to his passing, Anderson recorded the highest number of touches, final third entries, and interceptions on his team. Coventry City manager Frank Lampard praised the midfielder's performance, describing him as ‘very talented’ and ‘very smart.’ The match, decided by an Erling Haaland header, also featured the last-minute inclusion of new signing Enzo Fernandez in the Manchester City lineup.
