Elliott Investment Management calls for board changes at Northern Star Resources

Elliott Investment Management L.P. has issued a letter to the Board of Directors of Northern Star Resources Ltd, citing a need for substantial board enhancement and a comprehensive strategic review. Holding an approximate 5.6% stake in the company, Elliott expressed concerns regarding years of execution and governance failures.

To address these issues, Elliott has proposed a group of independent director candidates intended to restore market confidence and support the incoming Chief Executive. The candidates include industry veterans such as former Anglo American CEO Mark Cutifani, former Arcadium Lithium CEO Paul Graves, and former Barrick CFO Graham Shuttleworth. The proposed slate aims to provide expertise across operations, finance, governance, and technical disciplines.
