Elly Schlein urges Meloni to lead EU industrial revival

At the "L'Europa che vogliamo" event organised by the Democratic Party delegation in the European Parliament, Elly Schlein, secretary of Italy's Democratic Party, called on Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to join a joint effort to revive Italian manufacturing. She said, "Non mi stancherò mai di chiedere a Meloni di fare insieme questa battaglia per il rilancio della manifattura italiana," emphasizing that the crisis affects both Italy and the wider EU.

Schlein argued that Europe faces military and commercial aggression and therefore needs a bold, courageous European industrial plan, deeper integration, treaty changes and an adequate budget to secure an existential challenge for the Union.
