Elma Saiz guarantees Spanish public pension revaluation

Spain's Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz, has guaranteed that the revaluation of public pensions will occur ‘indubitably’ as it is protected by law. Saiz issued a message of calm to pensioners, stating the government is ‘absolutely committed to the public pension system.’

Saiz criticized the People's Party (PP) and Vox, accusing them of questioning the public system and discussing ‘cuts’ and ‘privatization’ shortly after the announcement of the general elections. She defended the sustainability of the current model, noting that the system undergoes examinations and holds validation from the European Commission and other independent bodies.

Additionally, Saiz addressed the upcoming general strike regarding the right to dignified housing, stating her absolute respect for the constitutional right to strike and demonstrate.
