Elmos Semiconductor secures increased wafer capacity in Dortmund

Elmos Semiconductor SE, a manufacturer of mixed-signal semiconductors for the automotive sector, has extended its supply agreement for the wafer fabrication facility in Dortmund. This extension provides the company with significantly increased capacity through at least 2028.

CEO Dr. Arne Schneider stated that securing these additional capacities is a strategic advantage given the high global demand for semiconductor manufacturing. The move is intended to strengthen supply chain resilience and address rising demand driven by vehicle electrification, autonomous driving, and the expansion of AI infrastructure and data centers. This arrangement complements Elmos’s existing fabless strategy by combining foundry partner technologies with established manufacturing capacity in Dortmund.
