Eloise Nicholson’s battle with severe endometriosis leads to 13 surgeries and loss of fertility

Eloise Nicholson, a 43‑year‑old mother from Redcar, Teesside, was diagnosed with stage‑four endometriosis at age 34. The disease caused the lining of her uterus to grow onto other organs, leading to an ovarian cyst, bowel adhesions and a perforated bowel.

Since the diagnosis she has undergone 13 operations, including removal of the cyst and lesions, a hysterectomy, five hernia repairs, and the insertion of a nephrostomy bag to drain her kidney. A stoma was placed after the bowel injury and later reversed, but the endometriosis returned, preventing further fertility.

Nicholson now lives with daily pain, uses a nephrostomy bag, and cannot work because of mobility issues. She told Sell Us Your Story, "It has ruined my life," adding that she cannot have more children and faces ongoing health challenges despite a full hysterectomy.
