Elon Musk and America PAC settle election giveaway fraud lawsuits

Elon Musk and his political action committee, America PAC, have reached proposed settlements in two class-action lawsuits alleging they defrauded voters during the 2024 US presidential election. The lawsuits, involving residents from states such as Arizona, claimed the group misled voters in seven battleground states by promising a daily $1 million giveaway to random signatories of a petition supporting the US Constitution.

The controversy intensified following court testimony in Philadelphia, where an America PAC lawyer stated that winners were ‘not chosen by chance’ but were instead selected for their potential as public spokespeople for the committee. While the proposed settlements have been submitted to a federal judge in Austin, Texas, for approval, the specific terms of the agreements remain undisclosed, and the defendants have not admitted to any wrongdoing.
