Elon Musk Biopic and Documentary Set for 2025 Release

A new biopic titled ELON, produced by Armando Gutierrez who also portrays Musk, released its first trailer. The film, shot in Miami, focuses on the volatile early years of Tesla and is slated for a limited theatrical run this fall with possible streaming distribution. Executive producer Nick Friedman said, “What drew me to this story was the entrepreneurial journey.”

Meanwhile, Alex Gibney’s four‑hour documentary Musk will debut at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2025. The 232‑minute feature chronicles the billionaire’s career and controversies. Festival artistic director Alberto Barbera highlighted the runtime, noting it “traces the whole career — the contradictions, and the conditioning power that is centralized in the hands of a single man.” Musk previously dismissed the documentary as a “hit piece.”
