Elon Musk criticizes Brazilian judiciary and Grok AI error

Elon Musk, owner of the social media platform X, has drawn criticism following an error by his generative AI, Grok. The AI incorrectly identified Brazilian Deputy André Janones as former President Jair Bolsonaro during an automated translation of a post regarding WhatsApp voter engagement. Grok later attributed the mistake to the model weighing the historical association between Brazilian political topics and Bolsonaro more heavily than the less prominent Janones.

Separately, Musk shared a post by attorney Martin De Luca that levels harsh criticisms against Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the Supreme Federal Court (STF). The shared content questions the impartiality of the Brazilian judiciary, alleging interference in electoral processes. Specifically, the post claims that President Lula bypassed the TSE to seek an immediate ruling from Supreme Court Minister Cristiano Zanin to extend voting hours, questioning the legitimacy of the election process.
