Elon Musk criticizes proponents of continued war in Ukraine

Elon Musk has issued a sharp rebuke toward those advocating for the continuation of the war in Ukraine, stating on the social media platform X that “bloodthirsty warmongers, who insist on endless war, should burn in hell.”

His comments follow a reminder of a peace proposal he drafted in October 2022. That previous plan suggested Ukraine adopt a neutral status without joining NATO, recognized Crimea as part of Russia, and proposed UN-supervised elections in annexed regions, with Russia withdrawing if the results were not in its favor.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has publicly rejected Musk’s previous settlement ideas, using a poll on X to ask users whether they prefer the version of Musk that supports Ukraine or the one that supports Russia. Musk maintains that his primary objective is to end hostilities and limit casualties, though his latest statement did not outline new specific terms for a peace agreement.
