Elon Musk donates $1.5 million to group targeting Alaska voting system

Elon Musk has donated $1.5 million to the Aurora Action Network, a Wisconsin-based political action committee. The group has subsequently donated $1 million to another committee campaigning to revoke Alaska’s ranked-choice voting system.

This influx of outside political spending is part of a broader trend of megadonors influencing state-level politics. In Alaska, much of this funding is directed toward efforts to return elections to a system dominated by political parties rather than the current ranked-choice model.
