The proposed regulatory entity, suggested by Google's Demis Hassabis, was viewed by these executives as a potential mechanism that could consolidate power within existing giants like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. Zuckerberg argued that user expectations naturally drive safe development, while Huang suggested that speed and safety are compatible without new regulations.
