The wealth increase is attributed to rising stock values, with SpaceX shares climbing 33 percent and Tesla shares increasing by 18 percent. As of September 1, Musk's total wealth is estimated at $892 billion.

Other notable shifts in the global wealth rankings include Larry Page, the Google co-founder, holding the second position with $277 billion despite a $15 billion decrease in August. Jeff Bezos remains in third place with $268 billion. The top rankings also feature Sergey Brin, Michael Dell, and Mark Zuckerberg.
