Elon Musk likens Ceuta migrant surge to zombie attack, slams Spanish PM

Elon Musk posted a clip from the 2013 horror film "World War Z" on social media, drawing a comparison between the scene of hordes of zombies attacking a city and the recent influx of migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta on the Moroccan border. In the post he also criticized Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, saying the country's budget would be destroyed by illegal migrants.

Spanish authorities reported that between 40,000 and 50,000 migrants attempted to cross into Ceuta in recent days, a rise of about 50 % compared with the previous crisis in May 2021. The government deployed additional police and military forces to the border. Musk’s comparison sparked criticism from users and analysts who called the analogy inappropriate, while his supporters said he was highlighting concerns over European migration policies.
