Elon Musk merger speculation links SpaceX and Tesla
Investment analysts and insiders are betting that Elon Musk will combine his SpaceX and Tesla businesses. Ross Gerber, head of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management, called a SpaceX‑Tesla merger a “forgone conclusion” and said investors are already pricing the prospect into Tesla shares. Investor Alexandra Merz, chief executive of L&F Investor Services, avoided buying SpaceX shares in its record IPO, stating her thesis that the two companies will merge within weeks and be completed by mid‑2027. SpaceX’s IPO priced at $135 per share gave the company a valuation near $2 trillion, surpassing Meta and Saudi Aramco, and prompted discussion of how a combined entity would affect Tesla shareholders. The speculation follows SpaceX’s recent acquisition of Musk’s xAI and reflects expectations that the firms’ AI, energy, robotics, rocket, and satellite businesses could be unified under a single corporate platform.
