Elon Musk predicts AI and robotics could make money meaningless
At the US–Saudi Investment Forum, Elon Musk suggested that advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics could lead to a future where money becomes “meaningless” and labor becomes optional. Musk envisions a world where intelligent machines handle heavy tasks, allowing humans to engage in work primarily for enjoyment, similar to hobbies or sports.
Musk previously noted that Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot could significantly transform humanity within the next two decades. While Musk presents a vision of a post-scarcity society, other industry leaders offer a more pragmatic perspective. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated that while AI will inevitably disrupt the workforce and change how people learn and work, it will reshape roles rather than eliminate them entirely by automating repetitive and menial tasks.
