Elon Musk predicts AI could double US GDP growth to 4%

Elon Musk has predicted that artificial intelligence could double United States GDP growth from approximately 2% to 4% or higher next year. While Musk characterized this as a “guess,” the forecast highlights the intense debate regarding whether massive capital expenditures in AI infrastructure will yield rapid productivity gains. Analysts note that while US tech companies are projected to spend nearly $1 trillion on chips and data centers by 2027, historical precedents like the internet boom suggest a significant lag between investment and broad economic impact.

In the enterprise sector, Salesforce is shifting its strategy toward an “interface revolution.” The company’s new AIforce layer aims to integrate data and workflows directly into environments like Slack and Claude, effectively turning AI agents into the primary user interface.

In India, Salesforce reports a transition from AI experimentation to large-scale production deployment. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Salesforce President and CEO for South Asia, noted that Indian firms are moving beyond pilots toward wider enterprise adoption. To support this growth, the company plans to invest in physical infrastructure, including a new facility in Bengaluru, and focus on upskilling local talent.
