Elon Musk promises SpaceX shares to every child in the US
Elon Musk announced a plan to distribute one SpaceX share to every child in the United States in 2027. The initiative, shared via his platform X, is described by Musk as “the first of many upcoming steps.”
Estimates suggest approximately 72.1 million children in the US could benefit from the plan. Based on calculations from Forbes and the U.S. Census Bureau, the total value of the shares could range between USD 10.5 billion and USD 10.8 billion, assuming a share price of approximately USD 150.
Musk indicated that the distribution would be facilitated through the Invest America program, also referred to as “Trump Accounts.” This government program provides investment accounts for minors, which may include a one-time USD 1,000 deposit from the government for eligible children born during Donald Trump’s second term. Specific details regarding the exact schedule, eligibility criteria, and distribution process have not yet been fully clarified.
