Elon Musk pledges SpaceX shares to every US child

Elon Musk has announced a pledge to give one SpaceX share to every child in the United States next year. With approximately 73 million children under the age of 18 living in the US, the donation is estimated to be worth over $10 billion based on recent share prices.

Donald Trump expressed support for the initiative on Truth Social, suggesting the shares could be distributed through ‘TRUMP ACCOUNTS’, which are tax-friendly investment vehicles for children. The announcement comes amid Musk's significant financial involvement in the upcoming midterm elections.

While the giveaway would represent a substantial sum, it would only reduce Musk’s outright SpaceX holdings by about 1.5 percent. His voting power is expected to remain largely intact due to the company's dual-class share structure. Details regarding the specific eligibility criteria, timing, and distribution methods have not yet been disclosed.
