Elon Musk provides massive funding for Republican midterm campaigns
Elon Musk has significantly increased his financial involvement in the Republican midterm elections, according to federal filings. His aligned group, America PAC, spent $76.7 million in the third quarter of 2026. Of that amount, $35.8 million was dedicated to field operations aimed at driving turnout for Donald Trump’s base across seven Senate battleground states and several House races.
In addition to the America PAC spending, Musk contributed $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund to support GOP Senate candidates. An equivalent amount was funneled into Texas PAC, which supports Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Musk’s focus on Texas aligns with his personal and business interests, as his companies SpaceX and Tesla are based in the state.
With canvassing serving as the largest expense for America PAC, Musk has established a field operation comparable to a presidential-level campaign, effectively creating a massive resource for the Republican party heading into Election Day.
