Elon Musk threatens Democrats over potential congressional investigations

Elon Musk has issued a warning to Democratic politicians following reports that the party is planning congressional investigations into him and his companies if they win control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

Responding to a Politico report on X, Musk stated, “Those who take up the sword will perish by the sword,” and added that he would seek to identify and target those “really pulling the strings” rather than just their “puppets.”

Potential areas of investigation cited include Musk’s role in limiting Starshield satellite services in Ukraine, the impact of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on federal workforce reductions, and potential conflicts of interest regarding federal contracts and subsidies awarded to SpaceX and Tesla. Musk, a major donor to the Republican Party, previously served a 130-day term in the administration through the DOGE initiative, which contributed to a reduction of approximately 250,000 federal employees in 2025.
