Musk also claims AI already outperforms about 90 % of software engineers and will soon exceed 99 % of them, foreseeing a future where AI and humanoid robots take over most work, making labour a voluntary activity and ushering an “age of extraordinary abundance”.

A separate EY study highlighted the growing threat of AI‑driven cyberattacks, noting that firms have roughly 1.5 years to adapt. It found that 36 % of corporate digital assets are vulnerable and that traditional security methods focused on post‑breach recovery are no longer sufficient against AI‑enabled threats.
