Elon Musk warns U.S. of possible bankruptcy and pledges $100 million to aid Republican candidates

Tech billionaire Elon Musk told the Dwarkesh Podcast that the United States faces a real risk of bankruptcy unless it dramatically expands the use of artificial intelligence and robotics. He highlighted the nation's $1 trillion‑plus annual interest burden on the federal debt and said the country must adopt new technologies to curb spending and stabilise the economy.

Musk also disclosed that his political action committee, dubbed the "Super PAC" or "America PAC," plans to spend at least $100 million on the upcoming November mid‑term elections. The funding will target Senate races in at least eight states, including Alaska, Arizona, Maine, Michigan and Ohio, with additional discussions for contests in North Carolina, Georgia and Texas. The money is intended to bolster Republican candidates and maintain the party’s financial edge over Democrats.
