Elon Musk’s America PAC launches ads targeting Democrats in Senate races

Elon Musk’s political action committee, America PAC, has launched an advertising campaign targeting Democratic Senate nominees in Texas, Ohio, and Iowa. The advertisements focus on transgender issues, accusing candidates of supporting taxpayer-funded gender-reassignment surgery for minors and allowing men to compete in women’s sports.

The ads target James Talarico in Texas, Sherrod Brown in Ohio, and Josh Turek in Iowa. In Texas, the Talarico campaign has disputed the claims made in the advertisements, stating that the candidate does not support gender-reassignment surgery for minors and had attempted to work with Republicans to amend legislation regarding transgender children in sports.

Musk is expected to spend at least $100 million to support Republican efforts to retain control of the Senate and the House during the midterm elections. This follows his previous significant financial support for Republican candidates during the 2024 election cycle.
