Elon Musk's America PAC targets Maine congressional races

Elon Musk’s America PAC has begun deploying funds to support Republican candidates in key battleground states ahead of the midterm elections. In Maine, the PAC has spent $170,000 on digital ads, mailers, and phone calls to support the reelection bid of Senator Susan Collins. Collins is facing a challenge from Democrat Troy Jackson, a former state Senate President who replaced Graham Platner in the race.

The Maine Senate race is considered a critical contest for Democrats seeking to retake the U.S. Senate. Recent polling indicates a competitive race, with Jackson leading Collins by more than two percentage points, though the result remains within the margin of error. Additionally, the PAC is targeting Maine’s 2nd Congressional District race.

Musk’s political spending also includes a focus on social issues. Reports indicate that his campaign efforts have utilized advertising strategies targeting Democrats regarding transgender rights, mirroring certain Republican messaging strategies used in previous election cycles.
