SpaceX completes record-breaking IPO, valuing company over $2 trillion

SpaceX raised $75 billion in its initial public offering on the Nasdaq, setting a new world record for the largest IPO ever. The offering priced shares at $135 each and, after a greenshoe option, brought total proceeds to $85.7 billion. The debut propelled the company’s market valuation to roughly $2.1 trillion, making founder Elon Musk the first trillion‑dollar individual on the planet.

Following the listing, digital representations of SpaceX shares began trading on cryptocurrency exchanges as tokenized assets and perpetual contracts. These synthetic tokens allowed 24/7 exposure to the stock’s price, with Binance reporting the SpaceX token as its second‑most traded derivative after Bitcoin.

Analysts and investors are also speculating about a potential megamerger between SpaceX and Musk’s electric‑vehicle company Tesla, a deal that could create a conglomerate valued at around $4 trillion. While such a merger would raise significant legal and shareholder‑approval hurdles, it underscores the scale of Musk’s combined enterprises.
