Elon Musk's SpaceX Eyes Tesla Merger and Million‑Satellite AI Network

Speculation is intensifying that SpaceX could merge with Tesla ahead of the rocket company's planned IPO, a move that would create a sprawling technology conglomerate spanning automotive, energy, AI, robotics and space. Analysts note potential synergies from shared AI and robotics efforts, but also flag regulatory scrutiny, financing risks and the impact on Tesla's cash flow and valuation.

In a separate announcement, Musk detailed SpaceX's vision for a constellation of up to one million AI‑enabled satellites that would function as massive orbital data‑centers. Each satellite would generate up to 150 kW of power, use solar panels, laser‑based optical links and radiators, and be launched on Starship and Super Heavy rockets. The first factory is slated to start operating by the end of next year, and the overall project is valued at about $1.75 trillion as SpaceX prepares for its IPO.
