Elon Musk's xAI faces legal challenges over deepfake imagery

Legal and technological challenges regarding non-consensual sexual deepfakes are intensifying. In the United Kingdom, Labour MP Jess Asato has brought a civil claim against Elon Musk’s xAI. The claim, centered on the misuse of private information and data protection, follows allegations that the Grok feature produced unauthorized sexualized images of the MP.

In the United States, xAI has reportedly filed a lawsuit to block a Minnesota law intended to penalize the creation and distribution of non-consensual sexual imagery, including deepfakes of minors.

Concurrently, World Gymnastics has introduced its 'Safeguarding Roadmap 2028.' This initiative aims to establish a binding safeguarding policy framework, a structured education ecosystem for athletes and coaches, and a global network of Safeguarding Leads to prevent harm and increase accountability within the sport.
