Elon University student groups prepare for midterm elections

Student organizations at Elon University, specifically the College Democrats and College Republicans, are engaging in civic activities to prepare for upcoming midterm elections. Both groups aim to increase interest in local and national elections among the student body by hosting candidates and organizing events.

The College Republicans have focused on creating a space for students of all political backgrounds to share opinions and have expanded their involvement into the Alamance County community. Past campus speakers have included North Carolina State Senator Amy Galey and North Carolina GOP Chairman Jason Simmons. The organization also recently hosted Alamance County district attorney candidate Sean Boone.
