ELOPY supports aquaculture development in Thesprotia

The Hellenic Organization of Aquaculture Producers (ELOPY) participated in a seminar titled ‘The sea of Thesprotia leads us to the future’ to discuss the role of aquaculture in regional and national economic development.

Organized by the Thesprotia Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together government officials, local authorities, the scientific community, and producers. Discussions focused on the sector's economic and export potential, employment opportunities, nutritional value, environmental monitoring, and the organized spatial planning of aquaculture units.

Participants also addressed significant industry challenges, including rising energy and financial costs, the necessity for a stable institutional framework, and the need for modern infrastructure to support the industry.
