Elpidio Mazza, longtime Ravello community leader, dies

Elpidio Mazza, a long‑standing figure in the Ravello area, has passed away. He was widely regarded as the voice of the San Martino and Monte Brusara frazioni, where he lived and advocated passionately for residents. Over several municipal administrations—from mayors Lorenzo Mansi to Salvatore Di Martino—Mazza was a prominent participant in Ravello’s political‑administrative life.

Mazza was affectionately called “Pappò” and, together with his wife Idarella, ran a local salumeria that served the community for many years. In a tribute, Secondo Amalfitano wrote, “San Martino non sarà più come prima,” reflecting the sense of loss felt across the town.
