Elsevier launches ClinicalKey Nursing AI for nursing professionals

Elsevier has announced the global launch of ClinicalKey Nursing AI, a clinical artificial intelligence tool designed specifically to support the workflows and decision-making processes of nurses. The tool aims to address a gap in the healthcare market where existing AI solutions are often tailored toward physicians rather than nursing staff.

ClinicalKey Nursing AI allows nurses to use natural language to ask clinical questions regarding procedures, medications, and discharge planning. The platform provides rapid, traceable answers backed by evidence-based content, including nursing journals, clinical guidelines, and skills documentation. By providing clear citations, the tool is intended to reduce the time spent searching for information, allowing more time for direct patient care.

A pilot study involving registered nurses indicated that over 90% felt more confident in their clinical decision-making using the tool, with 75% reporting a reduction in time spent on certain tasks during their shifts.
