Bangkok man arrested for riding jet-ski through flooded streets

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and sentenced to 15 days of suspended imprisonment in Bangkok for riding a jet-ski through flooded streets. The incident occurred on Phetchaburi Road during heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

Footage shared on social media showed the individual driving at high speeds, creating large waves that splashed against residential houses and nearby structures. Local residents expressed outrage, as many were already struggling with the consequences of the floodwaters.

During police interrogation, the man claimed he was unaware of local regulations and stated he was encouraged by a foreign friend to perform the stunt to boost public morale. The Makkasan police also detained the individual who filmed the event, charging both with public disturbance and obstructing traffic.
