Sector-specific increases were most notable in coal and petroleum products (+30.6%), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (+20.3%), crude oil and gas extraction (+17.5%), and basic metals (+12.9%).
On a monthly basis, the index fell by 4.1% in June 2026 compared to May 2026. This monthly decline was attributed to a 6.3% drop in import prices from non-Eurozone countries and a 0.8% drop from Eurozone countries. A significant factor in the monthly decrease was the 12.7% drop in energy import prices.
