Elton John performs two-hour set at Rock in Rio

British singer Elton John performed a concert lasting over two hours at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro. Performing for approximately 100,000 spectators, the nearly 80-year-old artist played a set of 24 songs.

To ensure the full program could be completed before potential rain, the performance was moved forward by 65 minutes. The setlist featured several of his most famous hits, including ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘Rocket Man’, ‘Candle in the Wind’, ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’, and ‘Your Song’, which served as the finale.

This appearance comes three years after the conclusion of his farewell tour. Elton John noted that he accepted the invitation to Rock in Rio because he had not performed at the festival during his farewell tour, stating he felt ‘a little guilty’ about it and wanted to thank the Brazilian public for their support throughout his career.
