Elton John to release 50th anniversary edition of ‘Rock of the Westies’

Elton John is set to release a 50th anniversary edition of his 1975 album, ‘Rock of the Westies’, on November 20. The collection will be available in two-CD, 2LP, 1LP, and digital formats.

The anniversary set includes a 2017 remaster of the original album on the first disc, alongside previously unreleased piano and vocal versions from the original recording sessions. One such track is a piano/vocal version of ‘Street Kids’.

Originally released in October 1975, ‘Rock of the Westies’ was John’s tenth album and his sixth consecutive No. 1 album. Recorded at Colorado’s Caribou Ranch with producer Gus Dudgeon, the artist has described it as the ‘most genuine rock ’n’ roll record’ he has ever made.
