Elvas to host Expo São Mateus 2026 with new inclusivity measures

The Expo São Mateus 2026 is scheduled to take place in Elvas from September 18 to 27. Organized by the Municipality of Elvas, the event will feature two main performance areas: Palco São Mateus and Palco da Feira.

The programming includes a variety of musical genres such as fado, featuring artists like Carminho, as well as pop and children's entertainment. Notable performers listed for the São Mateus stage include Tony Carreira, Budafé, and Papillon.

A significant new initiative for this edition focuses on inclusivity for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). On September 22, the Municipality of Elvas and the Confraria do Senhor Jesus da Piedade will implement sensory-friendly measures at Parque da Piedade. This includes a two-hour period where music and sound systems will be turned off across the fairgrounds to reduce sensory overload and create a more comfortable environment for attendees with ASD.
