Elvis Metvelaj detained following death of partner in Trebisacce

Ornella Forastefano, 46, has died after being found in critical condition outside the hospital in Trebisacce, Cosenza. The victim showed signs of a violent physical assault.

Authorities have detained Elvis Metvelaj, 42, the victim's partner, following his attempt to board a ship at the port of Bari. Metvelaj, an Albanian national, was reportedly known to law enforcement for previous drug-related offenses.

Forastefano, who managed a bar in Trebisacce with her two children, was found by medical staff around 3:00 AM on the night between August 15 and 16. Despite emergency medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The daughter of the victim, Maria Cosentino, shared a public tribute to her mother, expressing profound grief over the sudden loss.
