Elvis Presley commemorations begin ahead of 50th anniversary

Preparations are underway for the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death in August 2027. International commemorations are already beginning, with Graceland in Memphis opening hotel bookings for Elvis Week 2027. In Germany, the 25th European Elvis Festival is scheduled for August 13–15, 2027, in Bad Nauheim, featuring a special production titled ‘Elvis 50 – The Legacy Show’ with former musical associates of the singer.

As part of the lead-up to the anniversary year, entertainer Eddy Ebeling, known as King Eddy, will perform ‘King Eddy Celebrates Elvis’ at the Wolfwinkelhalle in Eisenbach on October 23, 2026. The show is designed as a personal homage that explores the musical breadth of Presley’s career, including rock ’n’ roll, gospel, and his Las Vegas era. Ebeling’s performance incorporates personal experiences, such as his past collaborations with Glen D. Hardin, a longtime pianist in Presley’s TCB Band.
