Elysium Game Studio showcases NEO Berlin 2087 gameplay

Elysium Game Studio, a German developer with a team of 13, showcased gameplay for its upcoming narrative story-shooter, NEO Berlin 2087, at Gamescom. The title has faced skepticism regarding whether it is ‘vaporware’ or merely a visual showcase due to its high-quality trailers and lack of previous gameplay footage.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game is set in a futuristic Berlin. Studio founder and Game Director Ivan Mirkovikj stated that the setting was chosen to provide an alternative to American-centric titles, depicting a future where a wall separates different social layers and the gap between rich and poor has reached a critical level. The game draws inspiration from titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Deus Ex, and the Matrix film series.
