Damascus hosts Emaar 2026 reconstruction exhibition
The second International Exhibition for the Reconstruction of Syria, ‘Emaar 2026’, opened in Damascus on September 13, 2026. The event features 356 companies from 27 countries, representing over 1,700 commercial agencies, marking a 145% increase in participation compared to the previous year. The exhibition focuses on four key sectors: energy, industry, construction, and real estate development.
International participants include entities from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Jordan. Additionally, a significant economic delegation from the United States, comprising approximately 50 companies and 80 representatives, is visiting Damascus to explore investment opportunities. U.S. officials and business leaders noted that some American firms have already begun taking steps to enter the Syrian market, signing agreements with local companies.
Syrian officials, including the Director of the Syrian Investment Authority, emphasized the need for clear regulatory frameworks and transparent markets to build investor confidence. The event, organized by Effect Plus, aims to facilitate business-to-business meetings and establish long-term partnerships to support the country's reconstruction efforts.
